Setting Chrome PWA as default? - Zoom Community - Data safety
As someone who uses zoom regularly for work, I am really really hoping zoom and google can work out a way for the new Chrome extension to be similar to the version on Windows or Mac. I'm glad I'm not the ony one to have a terrible experience. I have not had to use Zoom very much since because of my line of work, but--now that I am seeking new opportunities--Zoom seems to be hanging me out to dry. Piece of Junk - this app is nothing compared to what it replaced.
It won't SAVE settings. So, I am having to set up video, audio, and my background before each meeting. It won't consistently let me join the video portion of the call. I got locked out of audio on one call, and I had to drop, join again, and drop computer audio. The only waay to get on was to call into the meeting.
Don't waste your time with this nonsense. Zoom for Intune. Zoom Rooms Controller. Zoom for BlackBerry. They finally made a decision to end support for all of these old style ChromeOS apps in June of this year.
This new style of app, a Progressive Web App, works directly in the Chrome web browser, rather than a dedicated app on the Chromebook. Both can still be used right now, but after June, the old ChromeOS app will no longer be available and Chromebooks will only have the PWA as an option. Is it possible to just continue to use the web option not the Chrome app. If you do not use one of those, you cannot use Zoom on a Chromebook. I have been using the PWA, and there are definitely some odd things about it I only use zoom to join my Greek classes I get an invitation by email.
We realized yesterday that the Chromebook in our Sunday School classroom reached "end of life" last September. We can no longer install updates and we received the message about the Zoom app no longer being supported after June.
And yet, zooms message is that i must update to PWA to use zoom in June. Please advise. I tried to install the Zoom PWA and it said that it is not available for my device.
